Come We Grow

Mr Acumen (our colleague) was working and training with Hip Hop Gardens, who have organised the event Come We Grow on Sunday 29th January 2023 at the Rose Green Centre. The event celebrates black and brown environmental activism in London, Bristol and the South West.

YESIdub Creations are holding shadow shows in their geodesic dome theatre, which then will be transformed into a workshop and meditation area for the event. There will be music, art and conversations, all around culture education and environment. This is the first public outing for our large new dome, so let's see how many people can fit inside!

Nature The Healer

November 2022: Our first event as the YESIdub organisation supporting Bristol Green Capital with the Mys.Tree Shadow Show and a Gangsta Gardening taster session headed by Gulid (Mr. Acumen) for the Black Seeds Organisation.

Check out our                                page for more info.

The Kuumba Live Jam

Every Friday from 6pm with home cooked food free to all participating musicians. As part of our ongoing commitment to Co Creation within the community,  Mys.Tree (Tina) is working in partnership with Nysimba of NJS Entertainments, bringing a Roots & Reggae focussed jam that also celebrates a wide range of Pan African music.

The jam is in its early stages of development and is currently building up a house band. The environment is friendly and supportive, where expert musicians are on hand to help/teach, encouraging people to express themselves through song, spoken word, poetry and comedy and to join in musically. We are also developing a 'Toast and Roast' Rap element - to give people a voice and a chance to lyrically 'debate'  current issues.

We invite young people to come and join in from 6pm, to try out instruments, learn how to play music and already have a fine young drummer, Dillon (14), holding the rhythm.

In the future we plan to hold monthly Shadow Shows, a monthly day event and bring in visual arts and performance to the Centre.

Please bring your instruments and join in, or if you wish to help out in other ways we are looking for volunteers. Everyone is welcome!
